Hello Folks,
I have been visiting another forum lately.
Please forgive me Dale.
I realize that I have the WHOa illness..
But I have also discovered that I am getting
GAS
Guitar-Acquisition-Syndrom
Oh what am I to do?
No amount of tums will do the trick.
I know what it is… it’s that Celtic music and wanting to explore alternate tunings and not wanting to tune and retune my guitar!!!
Now I will be forever bloated and broke!!!

Marry a music store owner.
Hey, were in the same boat. But I’m jaded with the guitars. I had to go out and blow the 401K, the Xmas bonus plus run the credit card up for a very nice Martin. Did I say VERY NICE? Funny thing, that was about 4 years ago. You would figure that would do it right? No, you nailed it right on the head!!
I’m an alt tunning freak also. I’m way to lazy to retune all the time. So I finnaly settled on a couple tunnings.
I started out with DADGAD but have sence found it to be limited. Tell that one to Bennsusan. So I have recently settled on DGDGBD (Spanish) EADF#BE (LUTE) this one I use the most, and it’s nice because it’s so close to standard which I also use. I’ll also use DADF#AD every now and then. The Capo used to be thrown all over the place, but lately I haven’t been useing it.
I only write music on the guitar, I think I may know about 3 covers, so when I pick up my guitar, I’ll play only my songs in the tunning it’s in. Now if I had a couple more guitars I could go through my songs without having to retune!
But how can I not play that beautiful Martin?
The moral of the story, buy one very nice guitar and don’t be lazy about retunning? I guess that would be the moral, but geeze what a pain for a lazy person like me.
So yeah its a dangerous thing!!!
