Hi all,
I need help in finding a store to purchase Celtic designs printed on material etc. OR
Where in the U.S. is a great place to buy
Irish/Celtic ware over the Internet?
(Its a little off-topic but for a Whistle
Player who wants to re-decorate, I figure this is the best place to ask)
Lolly
I can’t offer a specific website (or store), because there are a ton of 'em! Earlier this year I built a knock-down whistle stand (for gigs) and wanted to find some simple Celtic designs to decorate the pieces.
Just type “Celtic art” or “Celtic designs” in a search engine and you’ll hit the jackpot.

Lolly,
If your looking for a book that teaches the methods of design …
There’s a book called Celtic Art: The Methods of Construction. by George Bain. I used this to learn to design knotwork designs. It has a slew of examples including Knots, spirals, key designs, animorphs, and alphabets.
You can also find a lot of books by searching at Amazon.com searching for ‘celtic art’ or ‘celtic design’.
If your look for just clip art samples, doing a search on Celtic clip art at your favorite search engine should give you a good start.
I found the book mentioned above the most helpfull because it made it easy to layout designs to fit the area I had (like on a guitar strap). By understanding how to build a knotwork border I could then design to maximize the effect for the medium and materials I had planed to use.
No, I am looking for MATERIAL with Celtic
designs on them to use as drapes and bed
spread, but I all find are the things you have all mentioned.
Maybe if I ever get a chance to go to a really LARGE Renaisance fair a vendor
will carry these; but I was hoping the Internet would have a better choice.

Lolly,
You might try metaphysical shops. Many of the ones here in Denver carry wall hangings, large sheets of fabric and and posters and such with celtic designs on them. A few even have celtic iron on transfers so you can put them on any fabric you like.
