help me save the (wedding) day

Dear Folks:

I just received a call from the MOB (Mother of the Bride) that the SOB (Sister of the Bride) wants to sing “Battle Hymn of Love” by Kathy Mattea at the wedding ceremony. The SOB wants the original soundtrack without the vocals. Where does someone gets something like this? Bonus points for providing the exact link where I may purchase & download this song. You folks know everything. Thanks.

Factoid: Kathy Mattea is a native of Kanawha County, West Virginia.

Next questions:
I am completely ignorant of Karaoke. Yes, I am that cool. Actually, I am not that cool. I just don’t frequent bars and have never seen Karaoke performed except in movies. One of my friends says that there is not enough beer in the world to make him sing Karaoke.

Will this be on a CD that is playable on a CD player?
Will this be the original song performed by Kathy Mattea (and not a cover band) without any of the vocals?

I can figure out how to search…

you can figure out what ya found

looks like CDs

You might be able to create the file yourself using free software like Audacity.

Can I remove the vocals from a recording to make a Karaoke track?

It’s also possible via winamp and a stack of other programs if the Mattea CD was mixed conventionally. Try googling ‘karaoke filter’. Add key words for whatever software you know.

Redneck Wedding Update:

I got ahold of a studio Karaoke version of Battle Hymn of Love by Kathy Mattea. They liked this version even better than the Kathy Mattea version. Look it up on YouTube. Initially, the Sister of the Bride who lives Out-of-State was going to sing the song as a solo as a surprise to the Bride. I delivered copies of the song to the SOB who lives locally and I asked her why she wasn’t singing with her sister. (I’ve heard all three sisters sing and although their voices are different, they work. It’s like that Dolly Parton, Ronstadt, Harris Trio thing). The local sister said, “Don’t go there. That’s why.” I knew enough to say “OK.” and later my wife reminded me of the last time the sisters practiced together. Now, both sisters and the FOB are going to sing this song. In his younger days, the FOB and his friends started off to Nashville to make it big but their car broke down and they had to return home. And our families wonder why we like living in West Virginia and why we don’t move back to Pennsylvania.
