hello, I am a student from Turkey who loves traditional Irish music. Recently, I have discovered another song that touched my soul, but couldn’t exactly identify it to get more information and lyrics to sing it myself. Here’s the link to that song in youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENFa5wmCNjc . my cd says it is “Shule Agra” and sang by Rachel Goodwin, but the Shule Agra I found on the net is also named as “Johnny has gone for a soldier” and the lyrics are diffrent. Would appreciate if someone wrote down the lyrics or some info about the song.
I’m not having much success, either. The title “Shule Agra” seems to be getting confused with another song called “Shule Aroon,” as well as to different melodies and different sets of lyrics. The trouble with ancient tunes is that the older they are, the more versions seem to pop up.
