Anyone know what this middle whistle is it looks very similar to the Clare and the Eagle all three play very nicely
If it isn’t another Clare, look into feadán. Pat Sky produced whistles in Clare first and later sold the moulds and machines to Michael Whyte who then produced the Clares with them until David le Bas took over in turn.. The similarity points towards that as a possibility at least.

Pat Sky posted the story of the Feadán on the forum see here ]
Thank you again for replying to my whistle identification question. I had not heard of feadán before but when I googled it I found a couple of posts on this site from Pat Sky talking about some history of this whistle brand. I like the fact it has a flat bit on the back of the fipple to stop it rolling. Plays very nicely too.
I have a “Tipperary” whistle that has that identicle anti roll flat back. Different sticker though.
Oh funny you should say that as I have purchased a used Tipperary one too that I am still awaiting. I was curious as I had not seen that one before either. I will have quite a collection at the rate things are going - fortunately they are all cheap whistles
Thank you, that is really interesting to see. Do you think they play well?
They are a bit of a struggle to control the high octave but manageable with a little practice. Not my favorite players but still kind of cool because they are different.
Thanks, I prob don’t venture into the higher octave enough to realise their shortcomings. They are definitely quite rare whistles
Something I’ve always wondered is why no other “inexpensive” whistle makers ever made a mouthpiece with the extended socket for tuning like Sky did with the Feadan.
It’s only another 1/2 inch.
If you ever see one - along with the extended socket the ridge goes all the way around and isn’t flattened on the backside. (Got mine in '80 or '81). Green top, silver bod.
