I’ve had this Eb bamboo flute for several years and don’t even recall where I got it. From the pouch design it appears to be Native American…? I’ve looked for any identifying marks, letters, numbers, etc and the only thing I can find is what appears to be a burned-in heart on the end. Nicely finished overall. The flute player in our band gave it a go and it actually sounds pretty good. Does anyone know what it might be? Any ideas what it may be worth?
Appreciate any help.

Walt Sweet uses a heart - maybe this is an early model(?)

Thanks. Walt is a friend so checked with him first. He has no idea what it is.
UPDATE: Great news! I found a list of flute makers online and sent the photos to several of them. I just received a reply from a maker who said, “Yes, I do know who made the flute…me!” His name is Michael Graham Allen and it’s actually an Irish flute he made between 1978 and 1984. He began using the heart on the end cap as his trademark in the early '70s. He made Irish flutes like mine, shakuhachi and NA stlye flutes and sold them at craft shows around the country starting around 1974. He went on to say, “I have no clue on value as these rarely surface. It’s a good flute and certainly related to the early resurgence of the Native American flute.”

Ah…what would we do without the Internet and e-mail.
