Hello everyone. I’m a long time lurker who like so many others have been brought out of lurkdom by the “Chicken Pickles” (my wifes pet name for the members of this board) show of generosity toward Jerry and family in his time of need. I was also the proud winner of the Copeland brass D which I received yesterday! (Thanks Jessie & Thygress) I’m a card carrying member of Whoa, owning whistles from Burke, Sindt, Dixon and Clarke, but none from Copeland. I hadn’t been prepared to make the financial jump to Copeland or Abell (yet). But, after spending some some time with my new Copeland D, WOW!!! I positively LOVE this whistle! I feel a little like someone being told, “we told you so” even writing that to this board. Oh well. Thanks again to everyone on the board. I’ve learned almost everything I know about whistles from you all. Man, that sounds scary!! 
Hey SirNick! Let me be the first to say WELCOME!! This is a great place to be…lots to be learned from a bunch of great folks!! And they are really funny too!!! Alot of clever wit here! Plus they are really INTELLIGENT!! I have actually learned things on this board that have nothing at all to do with whistles!!

I found out I won the Copelamd at work. I yelled something I won’t repeat here and scared everyone in the office half to death! A Burke Aluminum D was my main whistle (until now) The two biggest things I’ve noticed between the Burke and the Copeland are: the weight - the brass Copeland is at least twice the weight of the Burke, and the way the Copeland seems to “pop” between octaves. The Burke seems to “hiccup” especially between the bell note and the octave while the Copland just “pops” it right in!
