heart surgery and UP piping

Just went trough quite big heartoperation…(whole chest sawed etc etc.)Anybody else been same situtation? How long it took to play pipes again?Good luck I can play little tinwhistle and my electric GHB…

You’ve presumably got your sternum held together with staples and it’ll take a few weeks for that to knit. Pumping and squeezing wouldn’t be a good idea until then.

Hey thats a tough call but I will say a prayer for ye and wish ye a speedy recovery and back tae playing in no time.
Arra best Uilliam

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!

Wishing you will be improving each day and prayers for your speedy recovery.

I suppose it depends strongly on the setup (and the pressure-tightness) of your set. Anyway: Gute Besserung!

You know what they say:

Absinthe makes the heart grow stronger!! :open_mouth:

Get well soon.

Had that 3 months ago.I was playing again in 6 weeks.Careful what you do and nothing strenuous.

Safe and speedy recovery to you, and yes, be careful! Much better to play more later than hurt yourself now. And happy mending to you too, mike spencer.

I’d say just worry about recovering and get back on your feet, the pipes will always be there

I wish you a speedy recovery
