I was hoping it was some weird, funky timber he’d discovered in Zanzibar or something. I even did a Google search and it asked me, “Do you mean bois de rose” and I thought to myself, “No, that’s just rosewood.”
Well, Madagascar Rosewood is sort of exotic, what with it’s red streaks and wonderful pungent smell. My Abell whistles are made of the stuff, and I love it!
I’m 99% positive that the remodeled two-piece flute now includes the regular embouchure hole design/size as a standard, but the smaller embouchure hole is available upon request.
I’m in the process of firing off an email to Skip, so I’ll confirm this. If the above information is wrong, I’ll post a correction. If you don’t hear from me, then I got it right the first time.
Skip and Dave Skillen are currently adding keys to my Cooktown ironwood flute, so I don’t want to distract them from this most critical project!
