He found,he bought,he tasted..hmmm not bad !

Further on from my post about Wild Yeast beers..
I bought a couple of bottles of Mort Subite Framboise Lambic beer. This company has been around since 1686,so I thought they must have it about right !
This particular Lambic is flavoured with Rasberries and Elderberries.
When I had my first sip it just tasted like Apple and Blackcurrant juice mixed with Soda water …but an aftertaste of Nuts and Wood then took over.Interesting :astonished:
This is pretty weird stuff, with a lovely ruby red colour not at all like a conventional beer..but nice all the same.I dont think I could drink too many, but one 300 ml bottle before tea was just about right…
Next time I visit a city I think I might like to try some more…maybe an ‘unflavoured’ Lambic if I’m feeling brave on the day  .

These are definitely not beers you drink a lot of. They’re great for sharing and sipping. They are the one type of beer I’ve enjoyed as a rare, decadent breakfast beer in lieu of a Bloody Mary or Screwdriver.
