We are interested in kids age 8-13 living in the US who are talented
musicians.

For proposed HBO documentary program (or series) about musical kids
currently in development: seeking down-to-earth kids from all walks of life,
ages 8-13, who are 1) talented musicians; playing an instrument on a high
musical level but not necessarily on the fast track to a professional career
2) Deeply rooted in their chosen musical culture while also maintaining
other interests, demonstrating great passion for what they do both musically
and otherwise 3) Able to talk with others about how their music enriches
their world and the world around them Contact diane.kolyer@hbo.com for more
information, or log on to www.blues.org http://www.blues.org for submission details.

Further details, including submission information, can be downloaded at:

Please tell me this is a joke. What 8 - 13 year old concerns himself with being on the fast-track to a ‘career’ ? See what the likes of Britney Spears et. al., have wrought?

How about letting kids be kids?

I’ve heard stories over the years from all angles that one’s commitment to something can start that early. Latest one was someone who committed to being a doctor at the age of 8 and thus organized one’s activities (in a good way) to achieving that goal. Same happens in music. It seems that the best prodigies also excel at something else - just enough to keep their balance.

It is really too bad that I am 16 (in a little over a week) why am I so old??? :frowning:

…awwwwww, shaddup and take your GERITOL.

P.S. Happy early birthday.
