Has anyone seen my wallet?

I can’t find it!

This is doubleplus ungood.

(Sorry, I just re-read 1984.)

WHERE’S MY WALLET???

Hopefully it didn’t make it to the laundry…

My wife found it. It was on the hearth under some laundry I had folded.

We’ll be sending a full set of O’Riordan whistles to John Franklin of Plano, TX whose entry

“Maybe it’s somewhere around the fireplace. Have you been folding laundry? I don’t know. I’m seeing folded fabrics and then folded leather with a wallet sized photo of Wayne Newton. It’s like it’s there for ironic purposes. Maybe Barry Manilow. It’s either Wayne Newton or Barry Manilow. Or Neil Diamond. Anyway, that’s what I’m seeing.”

was easily the closest guess. And it’s Paul Anka, but I think we can all agree…a very impressive entry.

whenever anything is lost in this house - I check the washer or dryer first.

Hold on a minute. If you found your wallet . . . then who does this belong to:

Dale, I personally think my guess is much much closer. I was going to say that it was…over there.

Where’s](http://128.121.253.170/holdingfolder/mp3/jul03/sultans_of_ping_fc_-_wheres_me_jumper.mp3%22%3EWhere%27s) me…?

Master audio archivist Peter Laban…always with the clip!

Sorry Dale, can’t help with yours. However when you find it, if it is as full as mine is of credit cards, PIN cards, AAA, library etc cards, it probably is about 1" + thick. I used to have to take it out of my back pocket when I drove any distance or I’d get tremendous hip pain.

The one morning on NPR I heard an interview with some people who had invented a new wallet design. I “hinted” that I’d like one for my birthday and got it. This thing is really incredible. Half the time I forget it’s even in my pocket with ALL of those cards. Really amazing. Check out:

I found my pager in the freezer once.

Dale

I’ve found my dad’s cell phone in the freezer once.

I’ve been known to leave books in the refrigerator.

All it ever takes for me to find something I’ve lost is to accuse someone of taking it. Then it magically appears on my desk, under some paper. Works best (with maximum embarrassment) at the office.

I can’t tell you the number of mornings we’d have to call my ex’s pager number, hoping he didn’t have it on vibrate, in order to find it. He now leaves his cell phone in the car - I once had to drive over there at 11:00 at night because my son was stuck somewhere, in his father’s car, and the only person he could get ahold of was me (I got son a AAA membership after that little episode!) His father had left his internet on (dial up) so the house phone wasn’t going through - the cell was in his car (the one son had).

One of the first Simpson’s episodes has Bart sitting and eating breakfast while Homer is running around the house frantic. Bart keeps saying “you’re getting warmer, nah - now you’re cold, ooh hot now, nah, cold”. Finally Homer opens the front door and there his keys are hanging in the lock.
That happened a lot at our house, too.

Whenever I lose something (usually my glasses, wallet, keys, iRiver, trousers, recently made cup of tea, DVD, baseball cap, bicycle or TV remote) it’s always in the last place I look.

From now on I’m looking there first.

Will you keep looking? After all, if you stop looking then it is still the last place you look. That is why I always look three or four other places after I find something.

Doubleplusgood!

Ordered one. Already got it. It’s a really cool product.

Dale

I check the freezer.

That’s where I look for my lambchops, too. :smiling_imp:
