Looks like a plastic injection moulded type chanter. I finish looks good.

Making the molds for a large and complex object like that would be extremely expensive and only cost-effective if you’re going to make thousands of chanters. I doubt its injection-molded.

3D printing is of course a different matter.

What’s the big mystery on the price. Must inquire if interested? How much is it? That’s like going to a sale where nothing is marked with the price. I just walk away.

As compared with the highly efficient “traditional” method, where you only need to make hundreds of chanters before you see a profit … :wink:

I can see stepping on it, It is almost certainly 3d printed. Which is really not the most effective way to do it, though it is neato. The best way would be an RTV Silicone mold and to cast in poly resin. If you can cut a chanter in half by splitting rather than sawing you can make two molds that are super easy to cast and then bond the halves together with a solvent weld. Silicone can capture microscopic detail. It would produce a nearly direct one to one copy when cast with a highly dimensional stable resin, of course you have to sacrifice a perfectly good chanter to get it done. silicone is expensive but resin can be dirt cheap with some fillers added. I feel like each mold could probably turn out 50-60 chanters before shredding though as their is nothing on a chanter to shred the mold as the shots are pulled.

If someone wants to sacrifice a chanter let me know :stuck_out_tongue:
