The odd thing is in these pictures the flutes seem to have a cylincrical bore. Update: I have been in touch with this maker, and he assures me his flutes do have a normal conical bore.
Has anyone encountered these?

Hi James,
I have owned a flute by this maker his name is Dominic Allan for some time now and I love it. The tone it produces is fantastic. Its solid as a rock, in fact I have commissioned him to make a full set of keys for it this year, after actually trying out one of his 8 keyed ones at the St Chartier music festival in France last year. Which I would aslo reccomend too.
I haven’t, James.
If they really are cylindrical, though, they will play best in the upper register, with intonation problems in the lower, unless this maker did something to compensate, like the inverse conical head on a Boehm.
Interesting looking flutes, though.
I have since been in touch (briefly) with this maker. Here’s what I found out:
His flutes are conical, not cylindrical. He attributes the appearance to difficulties in photographing flutes, which I certainly understand, having encountered a few difficulties like that myself since I started flutesite.
He has background in oboe and woodwind production.
His flutes should be most interesting! With that kind of background, I would think he’s well-equipped to produce a good solid flute.
Also interesting is his low price and a waiting list of 2 months (!) for a keyed flute.
If I had the money right now, I’d be awfully tempted.
