Hi Michael,
Happy Thanksgiving to you too. Here’s hoping all our families and friends have a safe and happy holiday.

Yeah world, get to work! We’re gonna go have some turkey and pumpkin pie ![]()
By the way, doesn’t Austrailia have a Thanksgiving type holiday too? I know Canada and a few other countries do.
Take care,
-Jim

No, we don’t Jim. We’re far too ungrateful to have a Thanksgiving holiday but I’m amazed we don’t already have a Whining holiday or a Tall Poppy Cutting holiday. Well, why have a holiday for something you do all year round anyway?
Happy Thanksgiving to all my US friends. Fortunately in Canada we get to celebrate Thanksgiving twice, once in October for ours and in November for yours! We are heading across the border tonight for a turkey feast at one of the fine Cracker Barrell restaurants - man their food is the best!!
Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!!!
Cheryl
I’m considering giving thanks that my daughter is safe and happy, although on the other coast, by going to the lunch buffet at my favorite Chinese restaurant for a reflective meal of assorted seafood.
On the other hand, my favorite neighbor thinks that would be disgraceful and somehow sad. She’s invited me to her house for supper with her kids and grandkids. It’ll be a mob scene, but I’m thankful for her friendship too, so I’ll go and no doubt have a good time.
So, I hope you all have good friends and companions you can be thankful for all year!

I am thankful of the Forum and the new friends I have made here and the great music we share. Been an up and down year for the ol Weekender but you guys have given me lots of smiles.
Thank you.
To quote a line from Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
“It’s a ritual sacrifice. With pie.”
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Our Thanksgiving holiday has its origin in the Puritan Thanksgivings of colonial New England. Both the Pilgrims of Plymouth and the Boston Puritans were strict Calvinist protestants.
Just think about that day back in 1621 as Christian Celts holding a feast with the natives.
E PLURIBUS UNUM - I am thankful for this great nation of many peoples who can live together in tolerance, respect, dignity and acceptance.
(No turkeys were harmed in the transmission of this post.)
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Thanks Dale for this forum that allows people from all over to share and enjoy a common interest.
I’m in the Taos Public Library. We’re
on our way back to ST. Louis. We’ll
spend Thanksgiving with our friend
Ruth, who lives in a Navaho hogan
out on the mesa–we’re eating
tofu turkey! A great holiday to all, Jim
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Wonderful Cutie Pie Whistle Friends-- without all of you I would feel very alone, and thoroughly misunderstood, in my state of Whistle Insanity.
I give thanks for all of you!
C4, I’m sending thoughts of lentil loaves and tofu turkey your way to help sustain you through tomorrow! :

Best wishes to everyone,

My Thanks Giving
For the soul’s grin, when delight described,
For the heart’s tear, when sadness shared,
For the mind’s nod, when wonder won,
For the patient ear, when care collapsed,
For the hands clapped, when a tune tried.
I sit in quiet wonder at all the good grown of this forum,
Thank you each for letting me join in your joy of living,
and may each of you see your abundance that lets you …

What a marvelous idea! When, precisely, is Canada’s version? I, for one, think it’d be a great idea for those of us south of the imaginary line* to join in celebrating your holiday as well as our own. Sadly, I live a bit too far south to actually celebrate it IN Canada, but it’s the sentiment, right?
I am thankful for safe journeying these past six months, my sweetheart and his successful employment, my health considering I am currently not insured crosses fingers and the many great whistle-related friends I have made over the past few months. You know who you are.
And I am thankful to Dale and Rich for putting up with us all and running this great community that has done so much good for so many.
