Winding down from an exciting evening with my neighbor. Her macular degeneration prevents her from driving (thank God!) so I spend a fair amount of time with her.
We had a wild night of popcorn, “Sees” mints, sparkling wine, and a couple of video tape costume dramas–“Elizabeth” and “Henry V.” Had we had more energy, “Excalibur” was cued up to be next. But that’s just because I couldn’t find my copy of “Lion in Winter.”
What instruments were they playing in “Elizabeth,” anyway?
Have a great year…I’m off to bed soon.

Am just in from the New Year’s Eve session in one of the local pubs… they tend to have a lax approach to closing time around here (it’s now 6.30am… we played until 5.30, and weren’t being thrown out when we left)! I’m apalled at you people - going to bed at midnight? Tut, tut!

Weighing in from rainy California! I’m just about to go out on our front deck with my Elfsong and a glass of Santa Cruz Mountains Blanc de Noir and regale (annoy?) my neighbors with “Auld Lang Syne,” but I wanted to wish you all a happy, peaceful, prosperous and tuneful 2003!

Darn it, Redwolf, I intended to go outside and play Auld Lang Syne at midnight here on the east coast but forgot all about it when the time came. Too much herbal tea or something, I guess. LOL!
Last night, the boys both tried to stay up till midnight. These pictures were taken at just before 11:00pm. The first one was taken because I had a feeling Joshua was fixin’ to go to sleep.
