I frighten you.
You should all be afraid.
You, the wicked.
Would you like to know how you will die?
The sacred time is approaching.
Hide from the darkness of the day.
Beware the man who carries a jaguar.
Consider him reborn from the clay and the earth.
For he who carries you will condemn the sky
and destroy the earth.
He will destroy you.
And he will consume your world.
He is with us now.
Day will become night.
And the jaguar-man
will lead you to your end.

Happy Apocalypto indeed!
Thanks for the reminder, it would have been a bummer if I missed it.

There’s so much awesome going on here I can’t even contain myself

Apocalypso!

More cheese? Why, yes! Yes, I will, thank you. Mmmmmmmm. Velveeta.

Doing a couple of 45-min dance and performance sets at a year’s end party tonite. We will be touting ourselves as the End of the World Cèilidh Band. If everything goes out with a blip after the last note, that would be just the coolest finale ever, right? But on the other hand, we’d never know it, would we. Sigh.

C’mon, people: freak out like you mean it.

I highly recommend a good supply of this for your Fin du Monde fête:

(Really, it’s very good!)

I must say, it’s been a disappointing apocalypse so far. No sign of the Jaguar-Man, only the Post-Man with a pile of junk mail which just may be a sign of the end times.

OTOH, our neighbor’s caregiver, who happens to be Mexican-American, did bring over a nice Christmas poinsettia - which, as everyone knows, is a plant native to the Mayan heartland of Mexico and Guatemala. Coincidence? I think not.

On the upside, mystics are now saying that it’s not really the end of our old world, but the start of our new one. Some predict we’ll experience a restoration of the powers of our ancient ancestors, such as telepathic communication and the ability to levitate objects. Now let’s see, could those things be at all handy?

It’s more than good! It’s the real end!

Damnit MT - we worked really hard on this one!

We thought we had it nailed with all the alternatives, but .. ah well, i think Kafka had the right of it - the bullets arrive at their own time despite the imagination ..

I’m working on a new improved cataclysm - It’s called the finger of RA. And, like all good doomsday theories, it has a long list of distinguished pseudo scientists to back it up.

If we get it right - it will have fins, like the old Caddies .. i miss fins . ANd I really liked the nose-cone on teh Studebaker. SO .. how does this sound:

All new improved apocalypse!
Now with fins and nose-cone!

Wheel-arches extra, and, for only a little more → that wheel-within-wheel look for the devout apocolyptoid!

I love it, and plan on being part of the fossil fuel.

Well, I had to wait a couple days after just to be sure.

The second: absolutely. I wouldn’t have to get up and walk all that way to the bartender for a drink.

The first: hell, no. Are you really that sure you want to be in my head?

You were watching Looper, weren’t you?

No. Actually, I had to Google that to know what you were talking about. Bruce Willis…wasn’t he in ‘Moonlighting’? How nice that he’s found other work.

For me, levitation means moving the brush in my yard back into the woods from my upstairs window. When the end finally comes, we’ll be judged on the neatness of our properties, and you’re all toast.

Levitation usually involves lateral movement too, or psychokinesis. I wonder how fat and lazy I’d become with such powers. I do wonder what would happen if everyone else could read my mind, a reverse telepathy. My thoughts, my motivations infecting others. What a strange world that would create.

The whole Mayan thing is just implanted memories. The world began at the "end" of that calendar and everything before that was nothingness. The earth, galaxy and everything else is just a few days old.

Nobody mentioned this place, so I will. There are a few World’s End pubs in the UK, and Wiki quotes the one in Camden as if dragons haunted the land beyond London.
