hi,
does anyone know the names of the polkas in Hammy’s Flute player’s book? (he calls them Polka 1, polka 2, and polka 3 : )
cheers,
eric
Hi Eric - the first polka is in Bulmer & Sharpley’s Vol.4 as “The Toormore” polka. It comes from a Scottish pipe tune called “The Liberton Pipe Band”, but has been in Ireland, and Kerry in particular for many years now.
I know the 2nd one but haven’t tracked it down yet.
The 3rd one was recorded by the Cork trio, “Na Fili” in the late 70s, and is a tune I posted on “thesession.org” a few years back. They called it “Petrie’s” -
