Half a Bee ... er .. Polka

I picked this off of the background from The Boys & Girl From County Clare (Colm Meaney was walking through an old railway underpass as a band played this in the back). Its just the B part/second half. I know its not called Eric, but does anyone know the name of the polka so I can hunt down the first half?

Thx,

djm

Maybe St. Mary’s. Sounds like something the Chieftains played.

St. Mary’s it is. Found it in Johnny O Leary #322. Good ear, Bill!

Hello

This tune is the first tune in a set called the ‘Church Street’ polkas. They seemed to have come from John Egan (the Sligo flute player) and really sit well on the flute. Paul McGrattan would play them a lot.

John Moran

Good one.

I thought, for a minute there, it was a reference to Monty Python…
