Redwolf, would you object if we made your Guide a sticky somewhere on the board?

I still think we ought to have an Irish Language subforum. There’s clearly enough interest, as these sorts of questions seem to come up fairly regularly.

I’ll second that. True, there are other resources on the web, but such a forum seems appropriate here, too.

Besides, there’s already at least one C&F moderator who speaks Irish.

There does seem to be some interest. If nothing else, it might be nice for people to have a place to ask about some of those (seemingly unpronounceable, and thus usually mispronounced) tune names.

Better yet, perhaps C&F could perform a unique service to the global ITM community. For instance, perhaps not only could English pronunciations of Irish tune names be provided, but perhaps the English names of tunes could then be “restored” back into Irish, as a service to the ITM community that maybe not even Comhaltas could currently offer.

And, perhaps that could give the members of a C&F Irish Language Forum something to do.
