I just got back from the post office about 40 minutes ago with my new little friend…a Busman! Actually, I arrived at the post office just after they’d closed, but our nice postmistress is used to the pleading looks of the WhOA-afflicted (with at least two whistlers that I know of living in our little community) and kindly opened up for me.
I was very good, and didn’t play it for more than the recommended 20 minutes (and lemme tell you, it was hard to put down!), but played enough to know that this lady has an enchanting voice…almost haunting (of course, I was playing “An Buachaillin Ban,” which is haunting as it is!). I’m really going to enjoy discovering her nuances.

Scattered perhaps, but definitely logical. As a wee lad, I searched for meaning in all the places wee lads do. I listened to teachers, parents, men (in those days always men if you escaped the nuns) of religion, playground rumours, older boys and football coaches. Then one day I heard Little Richard howl the immortal mantra and I thought, ‘that makes more sense than anything else I’ve been hearing, I could found a robust system of belief on that.’ Descartes’ Cogito has it’s strong points but there’s just no arguing with Little Richard.

Doesn’t it just. Tyghress, I have a little confession. Although Paul and I both seem to have qualifications coming out of our ears, neither of us is very good at the simple art of getting photos taken and posting them on web sites. (Just look; I don’t even have an avatar despite having a collection of very lovely wombat photos sent to me by concerned C&Fers.)
But I do promise to figure out how to get this little beauty pictured for you and I’ve already had offers of help once I get the photos into the computer.
Oh, and Tak.: a review, yes a review in time. I’m especially keen to see how it compares with my blackwood Abell, my only other wooden D. Well, with a Busman and an Abell, am I going to need another wooden high D?

No, not in and of itself. But I thought you were related to one of his cousins. That doesn’t mean that you’re related to him of course, but it increases the probability quite a bit. Now I might just have some wires crossed here.

One of my cousins on my dad’s side married my uncle on my mom’s side, but they aren’t related to each other at all. They’re both related to me, though (2 ways).
As I recall, I am related to Johnny Cash, on my mother’s side. Jerry Lee Lewis, is a cousin of Mickey Gilley and Jimmy Swaggart, both successful musicians in their own fields. This isn’t the first time someone has thought I was related to Jerry Lee Lewis, but I can’t think of any of his relatives that I am related to.
