If I known that it would be this easy I would have covered parts of the photo and revealed it bit by bit.
As Chadd got it after 7 minutes all the fun ended rather quickly. I’m quite impressed
by all of you that got it with such an ease. Myself, I wouldn’t have a clue if it wasn’t for the fact that I
snapped the photo.

Thanks for the contest, Marcus! Sorry if I spoiled the fun. Of course, Joseph would have ruined it 3 minutes later anyway, so let’s just say that I sleep well at night. It helped that this is the first set of pipes that I had ever seen played, so it took me all of 5 seconds to recognize the red towel and bellows, and the pickup jack on the chanter. And then there is the Koehler & Quinn C chanter peeking out from underneath the Froment set, and a hint of an aluminum low whistle as well. Elementary, my dear Watson.
I love Scandinavian music and there’s some very cool stuff on the Drone website, so I’ll take a couple of days to listen to the samples and then get back to you.
And don’t feel bad for getting it right, that was the purpose of the contest
Even though you pointed out the obvious clues, I’m still impressed.
Next time I’ll have to make it more difficult or at least less obvious.
The most embarrassing part of the whole deal was getting the picture.
Cillian gave me a strange look when asked if I could take a snap of the inside
of his pipe case, just after I introduced myself. I felt like a true pipe geek
and realized that I should have spent a few minutes to comment his excellent playing
and sound of his pipes before I went for the case business.
Can’t say enough good things about the guys in Lunasa. They gave a top 100%
performance in a small cold Swedish town for a crowd of 50.
Even trough in a few extra numbers and took the time to stay on to show
some of their instruments after the gig.
I didn’t have an external flash with me but some of the photos I got turned out ok.
