Grinter, Old style verses new

hi, i wanted to hear from those who have tried both.
is it just volume? does the embouchure seem larger as well as the tone holes?

thanks, eilam.

Hi Eilam.

I have tried both models and I am playing the old one myself. I do that even though I had the chance to swap. However, I think that has more to do with me being used to my instrument than anything else. What I like with the Grinter flutes in general is the flexibility of sound and that can be found in both models. Even if one of the reasons behind the creation of the new model was to increase the volume, it is my personal opinion that a satisfying amount of volume can be generated with the old model. The loudest flute player I ever heard is John Kelly in Ennis.

Good luck,

Markus

John has a great blast alright. Its amazing how far he pulls out the tuning slide on all his flute (he must have some focused embouchure).

The loudest player I have ever heard is Conal O Grada (he doesn’t play a Grinter though).

Conal does not just play absolutly loud…he strike you with powerful sonic waves !!! :stuck_out_tongue:
