I know there was a site with wooden pipe case plans but cant find it …anyody have the link or care to share a set of plans? It s not rocket science but I’d like to have some guidance. I am thinking of using Luann 1/8 thick any experience on the lightest wood without sacrifice to structural integrety?
Luan tends to be brittle and takes staples/nails poorly.
Do you plan to cover it (spray texture, vinyl, carpet, etc.) or show finished grade wood exterior?
I suggest 3/8" material if using one thickness or 1/4" top & bottom and 1/2" sides.
I haven’t found any Do-it-yourself websites with plans… I’ll keep checking.

I was planning on making a strong case for travel and such and found the following company that supplies hardware for music cases, such as reinforced metal corners, latches and metal edging. They also sell laminated panels, but they are rather expensive so I think I will just use plywood and cover it in leather. I think it would be pretty easy to just cut wood panels following a simple home-grown plan and use their fastners and hardware to assemble.
