Hello,
okay so I am about to make my foray into low D land having played the whistle for a little while. My parents have enjoyed my whistle playing so much (over the phone- they live in California) that they said they would buy me a low-D for Christmas…
currently I play a Susato VSB and I actually really like it- (I have a ton of other whistles- a waltons, sweetone, and generation- I think i had the misfortune of getting a really crappy generation, and i don’t like any of them- well except for the sweetone- as much as the Susato) it is really loud still but I have had no trouble on it. I know Susato makes a Low D but I have heard few reviews on it- anyone have any opinions? Also what other good low D whistles are there that are not too pricy? Any opinions would be appreciated

Do a search on previous threads to this nature of enquiry. You will find pretty well everyone recommending the Dixon low D as the lower-priced low D of choice, and pretty well everyone saying the Susato low D is a disappointment when compared with the high D.
Tomcat told us about a good low D practice model made by Jubilee Instruments (Daniel Bingamon). He said that it is really good, and very inexpensive. I just looked at the site and they are only $18.
