Going to Dublin

Next week I leave on Sunday. I am really excited this will be my first time in Ireland. Is there any thing the locals recommend I do or see while I am there? You know the not touristy things that I may not know about.

Also, I went to thesession.org to look for sessions and was overwhelmed by the 28 results. Can anybody suggest some good ones? I am not a huge fan of mikes at sessions or lots of songs, I want the real deal in the small dingy smoke stained Pub where the players are good and friendly and the Pints flow freely, I am old enough to drink there. :slight_smile: I would love to meet some Chiffers who live out there.

I liked the session at Hughes’. I think they have sessions there most nights.

get out of Dublin as quick as you can.
Go to Kerry, Clare and the like.

Smoke-stained and smoke filled are very different things. One implies that there was once lots of smoking going on there.

I wish I could spend more time out of Dublin, but I don’t think I will be able to. I woule love to go to Clare and play the sessions in Doolin and Miltown Malbay, but that will be for another trip.

Naw they’re still smoke stained and probably will be until the next scheduled paint job in 80 years. :slight_smile:
