I’m off to Ohio for a couple of days to visit my imaginary half-brother, Declan. I’ll be back Monday or Tuesday. I expect to be checking e-mail, but not lurking the board, so if anyone’s looking for me, or if anyone posts a fife question, try the e-mail link.
Have a good time, Jim.
But I’ll never understand why we have a holiday for an Italian explorer, working for Spain, who was so lost he had no idea whtasoever of where he was!
I do!!! But only because I start my vacation!!!
And my wife does, too - but only because she and her sister are taking our two Greyhounds to Dewey Beach, DE, for the annual “Greyhounds Reach The Beach” festival!.
For me, it’s pizza, pizza, and Spanish rice
I’m back. The trip was fantastic. Declan sends his regards. I wanted to call Scott in Canal Fulton while we were staying in Canton, but the time just flew by. We did make a trip out to Cedar Point to ride the wild coasters, though, and to the Haunted Schoolhouse and Haunted Laboratory (and Strickland’s) in Akron.
Then when we finally got back home, it took my low-tech self a couple of days to hook up my new high-tech computer. In the nine days I was off-line, 341 e-mails arrived (only 10 or 12 were spam - Yahoo! filters work)!
The dog came home from the kennel with a bad case of Lyme disease and needed a lot of t.l.c. (he’s on the mend now). My older son turned 14 on Wednesday and went on his first real date on Friday.
The pace of this vacation was really getting to me. I’m glad to be back at work.
Yikes!
If you do any die-hard MTBiking (or even trekking) and you ever get bit by a tick, rush to a MD! The beast especially loves hiding in Lycra garment. When you discover it (hey? what’s this new wart?) it had time to grow fat and juicy… It brutally broke the career of a MTB world champ* a few years ago.
Spray your shorts with tick-repellent before any outing…
(Well, she recovered, but I won’t drop names since everyone suspected steroids in her come-back… )
