Glad they notified us!

On my way home from Wally World yesterday (a place I detest above all else :stuck_out_tongue: ), I noticed a sign that said this:

War
May 30th
3pm

I have no idea what it means (I’m sure there is a story that explains it all), but I found it to be somewhat humorous. It’s one of those big sign thingys that you put the letters up and can change, if that makes sense. Anyway, I found it to be humorous, and was glad that everyone was notified ahead of time

What if nobody came?

Agreed.

I remember seeing a cartoon in ‘The New Yorker’ magazine years back… one of those typical fellows with the robes and long beard carrying a sign, “The End is Near”… but on the back, it read, “But in case it isn’t, this space for rent.”

Oh, fer cryin’ out loud. They just couldn’t put it off until I moved into my new digs, could they. I really do not look forward to dodging bullets while lugging the armoire around.

…in which case, it would become battle armoire, and you would be better protected than most.

izzarina: Is the Wally World to which you refer Walla Walla, WA? If so, where did you see the sign?

Wally World is a nickname for Wal Mart.

Missy

Mebey it was the band War, eh?
Lowrider, baby!!!

more than likely, it’s an ad for War of the Worlds, with Tom Cruise

Or maybe the person that made the sign is dyslexic, and was supposed to spell it “RAW” ? (Isn’t that the name of one of those ‘pro wrestling’ outfits)?

Will Tom ride in a lowrider?

Maybe they’re declaring war on. like, Target.

Dale

What would they use as artillary??

Ah, if you remember from your Economics course, they’ll use GUNS & BUTTER!

No, I’m picturing a smiley face launcher.
This is appropriate as being in Walmart always reminds me of a claustrophia-inducing military bunker.

weapon:

water balloon slingshot

Missy

But shooting at a Target isn’t war, it’s just practice…

Wally World has already declared war on any competition as well as any suppliers who don’t do things their way. Hmmm. Sounds strangely familier.

I really detest their self-serve checkout lanes.

“Please scan the next item.”
“Please place the item in the bag.”
“Unauthorized item in the bag. Please wait for assistance.”

One time my wife bought 24 little separate thingy’s of thread for her cross stitching. I thought we’d be there for hours.

It’s an ad for a gig by Eric Burden’s old band.

It’s OK. It’s biodegradable.

It’ll be gone. Eventually.

War adverts. What are they good for? Absolutely nuthin’.

jbarter - you forgot the:

“Huh!”
good god y’all
