Hmmm… this has had me wondering for some time now (after looking at those pics)…

Where can one obtain those flex hoses as used on the pipes pictured?

Good question, Brian. I have wondered about that too. Maybe washing machine or vacuum cleaner parts? I’m wondering if you can get quick disconnects for them too.

In the defense of quick disconnects… Paddy Maloney uses them. Had them attached to his new Gallagher set last January. And doesn’t one of the instructors in the 1st (and possibly second) NPU vids have a similar kind of flex hose tubing set up on their set as well? I’ll have to watch it again sometime…

It looks like a small radiator hose for a car. I’d go with the hardware store and/or an appliance repair place.

I think the hose is from a Jaguar or other british car, something like a boot to cover a suspension or other part.

Looks to me exactly like the hose off a world war 2 gas mask - obviously there’s loads about still!

I have been using 20mm I.D. from a garden centre where it is sold for use with fountains and waterfalls. It is available in several sizes and am told it is a form of Silicon Rubber. The “ribbing” is helical but seals OK. Will send you and DJM a photo via e-mail as I still cannot seem to be able to access my website

I work in a hospital, and they use hoses like that in the ambulances for the resuccitation and oxygen equipment. There tested to 40 bar but used at much lower pressures than that. Got one fitted on my set and a boxfull of spares. There opaque in the hospital, not black.

I’d heard the ‘washing machine’ source as well, some years ago - at Willie Week '97, I think.

Every time I’ve been over the pond since then (3 times? 4?) I’ve visited various DIY shops to see if I could find it, but no luck at all.

Anyone else?
