getting digital pictures printed off

I have about six dozen or so digital pictures I want to get printed into regular pictures and mailed to me. I’ve found a few companies online who can do that but I was wondering if anybody here has done this before and which place you would recommend or not recommend?

Much peace and thanks!!!
Jack

I go to the local drugstore. For me that is easier. I think I did online/mail one time. It was okay–don’t remember which company it was. I believe both the online and local photo folks use very similar equipment and paper, so there isn’t much variance in quality.

Lots of stores have photo kiosks now, not just drugstores. If there is some kind of mix up, it is easier to talk to the local folks than some online company. Some companies, both local and online offer coupons. Some give a better price for larger orders.

I have used Snapfish, and they’re cheap and reliable.
OTOH, Bill is correct–if you have your pics on a cd or flash drive you can carry that right into the photo store (or wherever the do-it-yourself station is…ours is in a photo store,) plug in or insert your cd, and print them right then and there. Usually not quite as cheap as something like Snapfish.

edited because I’m dumb and don’t notice when I use wrong words until days later. Then I see it and think wth?

Rather than taking my digital storage device to the store, I do the selecting and editing of photos on my home computer. Using the store’s online software, I upload the photos to the store, in my case Costco, and the photos are ready when I arrived at the store.

Oh…that makes total sense. Gosh, I feel stupid. Thanks, everybody. I don’t know what I would do without you!

Shutterfly and Snapfish both have 50 free prints for new customers

If price is the determining factor, I might try one of them.

I haven’t used costco in awhile. I remember they would crop the prints so that the tops of peoples’ heads would be shaved off. Is the printing’s width to height ratio different than the digital camera’s. My camera does a 4:3 ratio.

I use Shutterfly when I’m sending pictures to others…I upload and order them online but having them shipped to friends / relatives.

But, yes, for a few pictures for my own use, I just head for the local Walgreens or CVS.

You can go to

CVS Pharmacy’s online photocenter and upload your photos and have them sent to any cvs pharmacy to be picked up.

Nice tip. Best O’Both Worlds.

I don’t know what a CVS is, but I do know what Walgreens is. We don’t have any though. All we have is Rite Aid, but I think you can do it there, too.
