Get your tuner out Rorybellows!

OK time to put myself up for ridicule . . .

Just occurred to me to make a recording of a MKIV widebore before it went out to show that the B’s are bang in. http://hunterpipes.co.uk/MISCSTUFF/Bs.mp3

Also this was my attempt (chiff passim) at getting an old Williams D in, pretty good except the 1st oct B is flat and the 2nd sharp . . . got the A in though, if you trail 3 fingers on RH.

OK do your worst . . . . both recordings are 1st take with no great care or attention.

hehe the second octave B is actually a shade flat! But not enough to matter, as I think you could match it with a drone easily with a small pressure change. You may have been overblowing it a little and actually pushing it down rather than up, just from the suggestibility. As close as I’ve heard in CP, in any case.

I notice that the Bs are also just intonation Bs rather than ET
(as they should be of course)

talking strictly about the HP stick, not the Williams which I haven’t listened to yet

Very good Sam,they do sound very in tune, all you have to do now is sort out the flat D’s and it’ll be spot on.

Not according to my tuner at 440! You’re a hard man to please aintcha!

I might be hard to please but I’d be very pleased with that chanter,it sounds very nice and very in tune. The tuner I have is a cheap guitar tuner and is not to be trusted but to my ear,the chanter sounds great.
