Generic Rowesome Reed

Anyone know who makes them? I have a Rowesome copy from Preshaw that I’m starting to have more confidence in…but I think a good reeding with a Rowesome-type reed would really make the stick come to life. Thanks for el input-o.

David Daye’s penny chanter reed measurements can be a start for a generic big bore reed. I am not familiar with the Preshaw chanter to get any closer than that.

Rob, you might find what you need on the reed database.

Hey Meat,

I’ll be in Austin this weekend. Meeting up with Mario and a few of the others on Saturday evening and maybe Sunday in th emiddle of the day. I can show you my Preshaw chanter then which works really well!

Patrick.

Good fun in Austin, Patrick. You sould come back often. And give me that flat set next time you do.

Robb,
I’ve sorted a few of Martins chanters and his stuff comes out pretty well with a fairly generic 4mm i.d/50 - 53mm staple. Headwidth/Head into staple etc., experiment for your own preferences.

Alan

Hi Rob (okay I’ll stop calling you Meat)

Definitely great fun lastnight, you were wonderful  It was great meeting everyone and having the odd tune at B.D. Reilly’s.

I’d love to come back to Audstin and see more of the place… I did get out to the “County Line” and have some serious Bar-B-Q which really blew me away

So you heard the Preshaw and saw how good it can be… cool! Alan would be a great guy to send out a reed too… he reeded a friends B set and it is smoking!

Looking forward to doing it again soon!!!

Patrick.

D’Arcy in Austin, TX??!!!?!?!!!??!?!?!!?!?!
Our President’s daughters 'll never be the same!

Patrick, when ya coming to Nashville to sit for a portrait (and to have tunes, of course)?

HAHA! Hi Lewis,

The Nashville thing is still in the air… it’ll probably be May? We had to postpone the last trip due to them not being ready for my part yet.

Had to include this… it’s a link to The County Line BBQ joint where I had “the best BBQ in Austin” last Sunday  I was at the one in AUSTIN (On the Lake):

Talk to you soon,

Patrick.

If you want REAL barbecue Patrick then you’ll need to come to Kansas City. Might also be a good excuse to visit Kirk Lynch’s shop.

Jeff

Well… I’m always open to invitations
