I picked up a pair of plastic Aulos recorders today and discovered a few wraps of cellotape enables my Gen D body to fit snugly, straight up the bore of the Aulos head without any modification at all to the barrel and the sound is sweeter than sweet…hope you guys at Yamaha are paying attention!I’m very fussy about my whistles and the tone of this thing is too good to be true…ya just gotta try this folks.Recorders and whistles CAN work together.Peace all,Mike

Hi all,
now that that the initial excitement of this tweak has worn off I think there are are a few points you should know:
Has the appearence of a bar-b-que tool.
2.Substitute sweeter than sweet with LOUDER THAN LOUD…high notes a tad strident…earplugs recommended!
3.If Yamaha ever made something that looks as weird as this, nobody in there right mind would ever buy it.
4.A tin-whistle be it brass, wood ,silver or PVC has a much better sound than a recorder which sounds crappy
and has the appearance of an antique chair leg(or 50% of a bar-b-que tool)Peace,Mike

In context! In context!! Sure, a recorder might (might !) sound crappy to some people played at a session, but 2 whistles would sound pretty crappy playing the recorder lines of the 4th Brandenburg Concerto. To every thing there is a season…
