Geek Oracle: Hosting Powerpoints

Hi, kids!

I have a nifty, home-made powerpoint-based web quest that I would like to do with my kids tomorrow (nothing like planning ahead). The thing is, I can’t figure out how/where to host it, and our tech person seems to have vanished. Anybody have any suggestions for free and easy places to host power-point based web sites?

Thanks!
Tom

Sorry. I know a bit about servers and such, and we host several intra and internet sites at work, but for the civilian market I’m afraid I’m quite willfully ignorant.

Try doing a Google search?

I know nothing, as well, so you are well on your way to a solution by eliminating everyone who knows nothing about the problem. It is a rather long process, but, if I am not mistaken, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb using this method.

Do you have your own web site? Any web page can host this, as it is simply a hyperlink from within the page. You must have the ability to upload files to your web page, but that’s about the only “technical” bit involved. Then it is up to the viewer of your page to have a PP viewer installed and their browser set to to recognize what to do with .pps files.

Tom, if you send it to me in an email before 5 PM British time today (that’s err, an hour from now…I always get messed up on translations when we approach daylight savings.) I can stick it up on my university server and send you the link.

We’re normally five hours ahead of NY, unless you guys have already sprung ahead.

Alternatively I can stick it up tomorrow morning around 9 or 10, well in time for the start of your school day.

(Edited to add…I don’t know if “powerpoint based” stuff needs special accommodation, but we can at least give it a shot.)

Got it covered, thanks to my own ingenuity and/or the assistance of the Undisputed. Thanks!

docs.google.com

Tried googledocs. It messed up the formatting, and the internal links didn’t work.
