Anyone here have any experience with this type of surgery?
After a lifetime of being overweight and trying EVERYTHING else, my wife Charlene is going to have this done. We’ve done extensive research and both of us truly believe this to be the best way to ensure a long healthy life for her.
If people don’t want to get into it here, that’s fine. But, if you have information one way or the other, could you please e-mail me at paul@busmanwhistles.com ? Thanks.
Surgery always seems so drastic. I suppose if there is no possible way of exercising to lose weight then surgery might be the only option left.

This is probably best IMHO. I wish you both the best of outcomes, whatever is decided.
I probably don’t need to say this since you just had surgery but remember that this is invasive surgery and carries some risk. Make sure you and your wife review all of the possible complications that come along with the surgery.
Work with your doctor to make sure you’ve tried all of the alternatives, this is a drastic step and will affect both of your lives (hers more obviously) for ever, make sure you understand what that entails. Even with the surgery, she will be required to follow a strict regime. It’s still possible to overeat and put the weight back on. Again, understand everything pro and con that is involved before, during and after.
While I worry that this surgery is potentially over performed, as someone who has struggled with weight issues all my life I’m very sympathetic. If she does it go in fully informed.
Best of luck to both of you.
I can’t offer any real advice, but being married to someone who has struggled with serious weight issues her entire life, I know how difficult a problem it can be.
While considering gastric bypass, you may want to also consider “lgastric ap band” surgery as an alternative.
I don’t personally know a great deal about it, but just it may be another thing to consider, depending upon her personal situation, etc.
Best of luck to you both in whatever you decide.
All the Best, Tom
Best, please, to take this to email.
