hi! i like northern style of flute playing a lot, so i want to know does someone of you have chance to see his book ‘with fife and drum’, where he explains background of lambeg drums and as i saw there is cd with fife and drums tunes. do you think is it good book to order it?
i like a lot fife tunes on harry bradley solo albums, so i want to see your opinions.

Marin – if you go to the “Session” website, a friend of mine who teaches traditional Irish music in Co.Antrim in the North of Ireland has been posting the sheetmusic to several tunes from the Gary Hastings book these last 2 weeks. You could contact him through the website
[ his “session” name is “Ptarmigan” ] and ask him about the book and the tunes. I met up with him in the South of Scotland a month ago, and he and his wife played several of these tunes in sessions there. There are also a lot of these tunes on a CD by Frankie Gavin and Rev. Gary Hastings, which has some great flute duets on it. Unfortunately, it is part of a 4-CD set by Frankie Gavin, and you can’t buy it on its’ own.
I’m thinking of getting Gary’s book for myself, after hearing some of these tunes played.
