Gaelic Storm

Hello Folks,

I am so excited!. Tonight I am going to a concert featuring Gaelic Storm. They played in the movie Titanic and also on Providence.

I am looking forward to it! I do not get out much…I will not know how to behave!!!

Last Sunday I was at another concert. A couple of local groups played. It was at the K of C hall with tables and chairs packed in the room.

Anyways, I only had one beer mind you. After the first group was finished, I tripped over a few chairs trying to get over to the whistle player. All I wanted to do was find out what whistle he was playing. How embarrassing! What a whislte player will to to talk to another whistle player. (At least in this neck of the woods.)

BTW… it was an alpro burke.

Have fun Laura - they are a BLAST in concert! I’m jealous - they’re going to be at the House of Blues in Chicago on St. Paddy’s day but I won’t be able to make it. That would be a great concert. And don’t worry about making a fool out of yourself - the guys in the band usually make fools out of themselves on stage!

Let us know how it was!

I saw them this summer and they were, as always, amazing. They’re coming to town sometime soon too, but I don’t think I have the money right now. Enjoy the show.

HOW DID IT GO?

Oh MY!!! It was a blast as you wrote Beth!

The evening started out with a meal,
then we had a few dancers then after that a local band played. They were pretty good!!

Then around 8:30 or 8:45 pm. or so Gealic Storm.

Outstanding performance! Animated and entertaining!

Oh and Seth, Kathleen Keane is an awesome whistler!!! Her fingers were flaming. I noticed you posted a thread on Speed Vs Style. She has both!!!

I turned to my friend and said, “That’s it! I give up whistle playing!!! There’s no way I will ever get that good.”

But now I am over the intimination of it all and seeing it as a new challenge.

Sure I may never get that good, but, I am going to enjoy trying.

The show lasted till about 11:00pm or so. I lost track of time.

I left the place with an autographed CD and wonderful memories.

BTW… I did not make a fool of myself. I did not stumble over any chairs.

Hmmm… there must be a pattern starting here. Kathleen was playing Burke whistles also.

And the worst thing is that She is just as good a fiddle player too. Some people have all the luck.
