Someone brought me back from India a G bass bamboo 6 holed flute.
God knows how you play the thing. It is huge and nearly impossible to cover the finger holes. You also have to turn your neck away from the flute to blow the thing.
I managed to get the lowest note after a while.
Anyone come accross this type of beast ? 
Some pictures I’ve seen of bansuri flutes are big flutes (they come in a variety of keys). The finger posture is rather different and the flute is held at more of a diagonal than horizontal angle. Check out the Bansuri and Shakuhachi thread for some good links.
