FS: Terry McGee piccolo in red ivory - mint condition

(My apologies, Terry)

Torn? Yes. Very.
But it must be.

Perfect condition.

and it’s the first photo; that is THE instrument I’m selling.

I’ve had it three months and used it sparingly, oiled regularly, and kept in a humidor at 50%. It is simply stunningly beautiful. My band mate describes it as sounding much more like a small wooden flute than a piccolo.
It does have a Cn thumbhole - VERY easy to use, not a hard position for anyone I can imagine. That affords a very nicely in tune low reg Cn and assures a dead-on high reg Cn. Or keep it covered (with the thumb or with tape, and play it strictly cross-fingered or half-holed.

I paid $750, just as it says on his site, and I would like $750. No wait.
I’ll pay shipping within the contiguous United States. Elsewhere, we’ll talk.

Don’t PM me; I rarely check it:

What’s the bore size on this, I saw the options mentioned on Terry’s website, but not the specs for the instrument you have. Just curious.

Loren

This is the larger one, the 12.5.

Cool thanks, should be just right for this crowd then.

Loren

That’s a pretty little piccolo.

Somebody buy this piccolo quick, before my resolve weakens! I have a matching GLP flute in red ivorywood that I bought myself for Christmas from Doc (beautiful instrument). This type of wood is very lightweight, with a sweet sound. I bet the piccolo sounds extremely sweet too. This flute acquisition thing is dangerous!

Jeanie

Is that the same as pink ivory? Berchemia zeyheri?

It’s a great timber.

Stuart

Yes, it’s the same as pink ivorywood. My flute is more reddish so Terry called it red ivorywood. I think often the wood is more pink. I believe there’s a picture of a pink ivorywood whistle on the cover of Grey Larsen’s book.
