FS-Sweetheart Irish D Flute in Padouk

I love it but I love my whistles more. Bought in '84, the flute is like new, not a scratch or nick on it. I’ve hardly ever played it, which is why I’m selling it. The Padouk is a rich, figured, deep red–it’s still beautiful because I’ve always kept it out of the sun - $225 + Shipping. Please email me if you’re interested.

I’m dropping the price to $200.

This is a good deal, and padouk is a nice tone wood. I love my Sweet flute.

Emrys - you might provide a few more details (which will also provide a bit of a bump).

How is the tone, tuning, volume?

Eric

Yeah, and now it’s an even better deal at $200 (+ shipping)… The tuning is excellent (and I’m a real stickler–a piano tuner professionally), the volume is fine. Frankly, can’t say more than that about the volume than that due to my lack of great flute chops. The tone is beautiful, those exotic woods do a great job tonally (and I’m a tone freak gal).

If it’s anything like mine, it’s a very nice flute. Mine is much newer (made in Dec 2002), but I’m sure they’re similar. The tuning on mine is right on with the joint pushed all the way in. The volume is strong enough for a medium sized session, and the tone is very nice. I really like grain of the padouk on mine, it’s very pretty!!

Good to hear! I had one of Raphs’ flutes in F, also bought in the early '80’s. It was the, well… sweetest sounding thing. Like a jerk I left it in the car one evening in San Francisco. Bye-bye flute forevermore. I still miss it!
