I have for sale an ebonite piccolo in D, in good original conditions. It’s marked “ROSE-MORRIS 1978”, serial 120.5765.
It has 6 nickel keys all working properly, original pads in good enough shape. On request I’ll polish the metal a bit to make it more shiny. Ebonite means it has no cracks. The color is slightly lighter at the bottom.
The writing “low pitch” actually indicates that it’s not “high pitch”, meaning that it plays at modern pitch of A=440hz, also adjustable with the tuning slide.
Playing qualities are good, even though not as great as a piccolo from famous older brands such as R&C or Hawkes, that have a sweeter and more refined sound. Tuning is ok once you get used to it, low D seems sharp at first but it gets better after some playing.
