Good morning to all:
I have in my possession a fine example of a non-tunable Low D, hand-built and voiced in April of 1998, by Ralph Cook. It is #67, in his production line. Ralph ceased production, some time ago.
This instrument is built from PVC, and is finished in black lacquer. It has the classic Cook built-up wall on three sides of the windway, for stability. (It also looks cool…) Ralph was one of the first to find a way to space the tone holes, so that they are relatively comfortable to play, with a very mild piper’s grip.
'Tis yours to own, as both a decent low D instrument, and a small piece of low D history. $65, including shipping, with-in the continental US. A picture is available on the main web site. If you are interested, please feel free to send me a PM, or an e-mail.
Best.
