Phil Crump B-III bouozuki (10-string)
This one gets compliments on it’s tone EVERY gig.
Price in February of 2005 was $3,000 including Cedar Creek case;
includes $200 “Double Treble” strap with my Celtic design (“The Tommy K” – this one is 2 and ½ inch black leather with green Celtic knotwork embroidery which goes very nicely with the bouzouki), and Planet Waves stereo Y-cable to make use of the stereo iMix system by L.R. Baggs.
Bubinga back and sides, redwood top (a few pick stratches, but nothing major), mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, headstock cover and bridge.
Gold Planet Waves AutoTrim locking tuners and Allen Tailpiece. Schaller Straplocks. Black binding. Celtic paua shell inlay rosette and on neck and headstock.
The jack for the L.R. Baggs stereo iMix is NOT the end pin – they are separate.
Strung with new Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds and includes an extra set (two sets of TI Jazz guitar strings).
Case (Cedar Creek) is arch top with silver futura outside, green velvet inside, shroud, combo lock, and hygrometer built in.
ASKING: $2,500.00 -
National Reso-Phonic mandolin
6 months old. Antique brass finish with a wonderfully figured walnut back and amazing flame top. These now cost $1780.00 new. Strung with new Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds and includes an extra new set. Including a Levy’s suede strap which goes very nicely with the mandolin’s coloring.
ASKING: $1,500.00 -
10-string banjo mandolin
Currently on eBay. Just search for “10 string banjo mandolin” on eBay for all the details. Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds are on it (new) and extras are included. This is a $2,400.00 instrument which is brand new (it came finished just as I was making these big direction change decisions).
ASKING: $1,500.00 -
Parker PB51 electric bass guitar
Currently on eBay. Search for “Parker bass” for the details. I’ve never played a bass which is so light weight and which plays so easily. Parkers are definitely different from most.
Brand new also. Purchased for $1,300.00.
ASKING: $900.00 -
Gotschy 6-string Phoenix Royal hurdy gurdy with extras
One and a half year old instrument. In tip-top shape. This one will make me cry to sell, but I must.
Phoenix Royal (only 10 will be made) with unique Celtic knotwork inlay on tangent box cover, wheel cover, and tailpiece.
Two drones (G, and C with capo for D); two chanters (G and g an octave higher); two trompettes (g with buzz and c with buzz with a capo for d). Insanely flamed maple with transparent blue finish all over. All other wood (tuning buttons, crank handle, keys, etc.) is ebony. Metal tangents. Two full octaves. Can play ANY key signature without drones. Plays best in C, Cm, G, Gm, D, and Dm with drones. Ebony fretless fingerboard under the G trompette for interesting sounds. Precision Schaller tuners. All strings are synthetic (MUCH better for accuracy and for staying in pitch and for performance than gut) – the lowest three are Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds, the high chanter is Corelli crystal, the other two are Carolan harp fluorocarbon. The strings currently on are new. Extra strings included: Two COMPLETE sets, plus four extras (both trompettes, the high chanter, and the C/D drone). Includes rosin, cotton, extra tangents Gotschy included, and a round-the-back strap (use with any regular guitar strap for snug fit). Also includes four books and one CD:
Muskett’s Hurdy-Gurdy method book and CD; Gotschy’s “Bau Ein Drehleier”; the German “Drehleier spielen”; and the English/German/French “The Hurdy Gurdy” instruction book.
The new extra strings cost over $200; the books total over $200.
The instrument and case cost $4,000.00 one and a half years ago.
ASKING for the package: $3,800.00 -
Reviol 6 and 8 key flute (extra “C foot”)
Photos are in the Gallery on Maurice Reviol’s website (www.reviol.co.nz)
African blackwood with silver-plated rings and black chrome-plated keys. Features Maurice’s usual brass caps on tenons.
Two-piece body (Headjoint/barrel; LH piece; RH piece; foot; foot.
With the D-foot on, it has all 6 keys except for the Cn – I much prefer a Cn thumhole for better direct control over ornaments and for more accurate pitch in both octaves;
With the C-foot on, it’s an 8-key, except for the Cn thumbhole.
Sports a very pretty endcap with silver knotwork circle surrounded by paua shell (I see my idea has taken on a life of its own in other flutes!).
The flute is two years old; the keywork is one year old.
Unique to this one: the headjoint and barrel unit were made from a piece of African blackwood especially treated with oil, pressure, and temperature by the woodwind manufacturer Maurice worked with in Germany – this treatment basically allows the wood to absorb more oil and thus be even more prophylactic of cracking and moisture damage. He has no more of this very special timber.
Oiled regularly and kept in a humidor at 50% humidity.
Maurice verifies this instrument would cost over $3,300.00 today; plus you’d have no wait time.
Gorgeous tone.

Carvin sound system
8-channel, stereo live sound system from Carvin. Recently checked out by pro sound techs. Everything is in perfect shape.
You can check out photos and specs at Carvin.com - Includes:
Mixer amp: CX-872, 750-watt, 8 stereo channels, with built-in effects and two-channel EQ.
Two cabinets: Two MP210T, 400-Watt speaker cabinets. Marketed as bass guitar monitors (for large stage), Carvin pulled these from production when they realized they’d made too much of a good thing. These are full range – 5-string bass guitar all the way to high G whistle! These are not made anymore.
8-channel stage snake: SNK8-4 brand new 50-foot snake.
This package also includes the amp’s power cable, as well as two speaker cables. Add Carvin’s speaker stands or not, as you wish – a great set up for a folk group either way.
Best if this is an in-person purchase; shipping would be VERY costly, and I’m sure you’d want to check out the sound in person.
ASKING: $500.00
