FS- John Gallagher 6 key pratten

Hey all
I am getting hitched come this October, and realizing that another sacrifice must be made to the gods of fiscal responsibility.

I am offerring up my John Gallagher 6 key pratten that I have had for about two years. It is a great flute. I can send pictures and sound files upon request. I sm asking 3k u.s. as this is roughly what I remember paying for it.

Feel free to reply if you are interested. I am in ny if there is anyone local who wants to take a test drive in person.

why are you doing a fool think like that? :astonished: :open_mouth: :boggle:

He’s in NYC. The $3k will maybe cover cab fare to the ceremony. Congrats and good luck!

a fool thing like getting hitched or a fool thing like selling that flute?

The wise man gets hitched and doesn’t sell his flute. The wiser man sells flute, gets hitched, then buys the 8-key version on the sly later.

Rob

I personally know the fellow and the flute. Both are gems. And Rob, I concur…sell the damn flute get an 8 key on the sly! BTW, he plays a keyless Olwell, so don’t feel too sorry for the lad…
Arbo

Thanks arbo for the testemonial as to the nature of the flute and my person.

The plan for upgrading on the sly has allready been in place for some time. I have a keyed ollwell on order which I hope to have the funds for when my number comes up.

I think I am going to start a secret fund under the mattress fir that purpose.

Good on yer!

Rob

Yer welcome! BTW, we missed you at the session… Just Dave and myself… only played a little bit- just so much flute and banjo one can take! Dave had no guitar, or we may have held out longer!
Arbo

yup sorry about that arbo…

was heading back from Boston that night and would have only made the tail end.

To those who I owe pictures and sound files. sorry for the delay…

Attempting to add photos…

O.k. not only will I have a wife come October, but a new Job as well.

Sorry if I owe people sound files still, but last week I was approached about taking a new position, and have been concentrating on that full time.

So… the offer was extended and accepted so I can start breathing agian.

The flute is still for sale. Will work on some clips this evening.

Let me know if I have any other interested parties.

Just bumping this to let people know the flute is still on the market.

Still Available. Postying on Ebay shortly.

Wedding accomplished, but still have not sold this flute. Reposting on Ebay one more time as the bills are rolling in.

Oh the ignomony!

These are amazing flutes. Johnny’s stuff is top shelf.

Don’t know the tooter or the tooter of the tooter but somebody would do well to snatch this one up. If I weren’t such a big sissy I’d get it myself…just too lazy to be a Pratten guy.

Doc

I second Doc - I know the maker pretty well and have played a few of his flutes (and watched him work on them). They are truly superb and are as good as (or better than) any flutes out there. John makes everything himself, too, even down to the keys, rings, etc. He’s making a headjoint for an antique Wm Hall flute for me right now, matter-of-fact - will be ready this month!!! If I had the bucks, well, it’d be mine…
