I’m thinking of replacing my Healy
(see http://www.skiphealy.com/frames/fr_spec-requests.htm )
with a modern “Rudall” (probably w/o the C C#)
(so, clutz that I am, I won’t screw up R&R #1477, medium-hole)
The Healy is great for small hands, but I’ve managed to get my stretch up to 12 cm ( on Frankenflutes) so it’s no longer a real neccesity. (and besides, Bev said “NO @#$!$% &$#” to buying “yet another” flute …crunch time! )
I’m looking for suggestions (online) as to what might be a good swap etc etc I’d love a Gallagher, Noy, McGee…etc etc

Would that I could, but even including the Healy, it’s out of reach. (However, if someone was interested in an airplane or two…I’m sure I would grab it in the ensuing confusion. He! He! Heeee!)
I’ve just put this flute up on the Woodenflute “For Sale” list.
Tried to put the Healy Rod-System up on woodenflute “for sale” list.
It hasn’t shown up yet. Does anyone know how long it usually takes?
I put it up for $ 2500 (its almost like new and today’s price for the package would be getting close to $ 4000…so that should be OK to start

Jack - did you send it to Brad’s site or to the woodenflute site? The woodenflute site should update immediately since you add it yourself, but that site often has technical problems.
Brad has always put up one of my ads within a day or two - it all depends on if he is in town or not.

I did it on the woodenflute site…it seemed to work fine the second time I tried it.
Of course, I had never tried it before so I probably screwed it up the first time.

Nope, I wouldn’t be interested in a Healy. Because they are easily available, they don’t hold their value. It’s frustrating.

Will you say something about what this SHealy flute sounds like
and how the keys function?
Jessie put her finger on it…just compare the asking price to new…although the keyed flutes are not as available as the unkeyed…and of course I’m anything but an investor…
The sound, as I might charicterize it, is loud and somewhat “hard”…best bet though is to listen to Skip Healy or Jeff Baker (mate to this flute, but tweaked just a bit for Jeff) and see what you think…Healy’s are Healys, not a copy of anything…my personal opinion is that they still have a bit of fife heritage to them (I’ve heard fifers prefer them but I’m not qualified to vouch for that)
