Aluminium framed, lockable case for D flute in as-new condition purchased from Hammy Hamilton for $80 last summer. Identical to the case pictured at: http://homepage.tinet.ie/~hammie/cases.htm
An excellent case that readily fits many makes, including Hamilton and Byrne. Can be used for both keyed and keyless models. Please PM for additional pix.
These are fantastic cases, much better than the usual flimsy wooden cases that offer little protection inside or out. At this price you can’t afford not to buy it!
And for those who cannot (or will not) pay that amount for a hard case…
the wonderful pistol cases of Doskocil cannot be beat.
All my flutes are in them.
And at $5 for the one that holds Rudalls nicely…
and $8 for the Pratten-fitting type…
well…
enough said.
David, I have my Gallagher and my Meyer in pistola cases. I just leave the egg-crate foam as it is. I would like to make “socket places” for the pieces but I do not know how to do it (well). Do you leave the foam as is or do something to the inside? If so, tell me how to do it.
i keep the egg foam, but trim it thin by removing some of the backing thickness. not much, otherwise the flute parts will roll around.
i use an electric knife for the job
