FS: Grinter Bb 8key blackwood/silver, Grinter F whistle

Hello all,

I will soon be selling a Grinter Bb flute in African Blackwood with 8 keys. I will also be selling a Grinter F whistle in cocobolo. This is just a heads up post. I will repost with pictures and such soon. I’ve not yet decided whether to ebay or not - if anyone wants to jump in with a slam bid before I do, PM or email me (bepoq1ATgmail.com). I confess that this is a desperate for cash sort of sale and I’d rather keep them, so I’m unlikely to let either go for a bargain price.

Sadly,

Ben

I’ll look forward to drooling over the photos, then, though alas I won’t have any sort of budget to even dream about buying! I’d soooo love a low Bb, and I’d want a fully keyed one with a foot to Ab or even G…

Your post raises a query I’ve had in mind for a while, though - Grinter whistles? I know he makes top level recorders, but there is nothing on his website about whistles at all, yet I’ve seen several references to whistles by him. What’s the story?

Where’s his website?

Wow, I couldn’t find it ~

He made some fine cylindrical whistles in various keys for a while - don’t know if he still is. Originally it was at the request of Kevin Crawford and all of the Lunasa boys played them for a while, though I think Crawford is the only one who still is. They sound lovely, but take a fair bit of air.
