Hey guys, do to my giving up Whoa (and trying the whole Matt Molloy thing, just playing flute) and lets face it I play enough instruments. That I am going to downsize on the whistles.
The Greenwood is the standard model, Blackwood in D with brass, beautiful tone.
The Busman is also in D, with steel fittings and blackwood. It has a wee crack just above the tuning slide, which figures in the price $175.
Basically $50 off the price of each, and then $25 off, the amount I paid for the repair on the Busman.
I’m awaiting clarification on that…
I stand behind my work, and don’t charge original buyers for repairs. I will sometimes ask a second hand buyer to pay shipping costs both ways, but I still don’t charge for the actual repair.
The repair was done by a pipe repairman here. I knew full well at the time that Paul would do the work free, as this is the second of his whistles I have owned (I had a cookstown Ironwood but I traded it with a Cookstown ironwood flute).
The problem is, I am in Canada and I had a concert two days later, while I knew that the crack wouldn’t be a problem or likely get worse at the concert I got paranoid. So I took the whistle to a guy who fixed pipes near here, it really is quite tiny, so he just filled it and charged me $25.
The buyer can certainly send it back to Paul if you like, and I am sure if he doesn’t like the repair, he will redo it.
Sorry about any confusing Paul, and thanks for the offer of the free repair, your warrantee policy is famous in whistledom after all.
