I’m selling an early Copeland D whistle I got from Michael in the mid-eighties. I lived near him at the time & it was made in the manner he describes using for his early whistles in the Chiff & Fipple interview - http://www.chiffandfipple.com/mcinterview.html
It is stamped with a tulip ornament & Copeland Philadelphia & has a plastic plug. On the back is stamped “22.” It wasn’t his 22nd whistle, though. He was just beginning to sell them & let me pick whatever number I wanted.
I suppose it is more hand made than his current whistles, but I have no idea how it plays vs. the current design. I don’t know if it would be worth more or less than a new one, so I’ll take offers. I think I paid around $50 for it back in those days of Reaganomics. You can see pix of it at:
