I was hoping for a sound closer to my older Copeland high-d when I picked up this whistle, another ‘older’ whistle. ( My d is “sweeter” and “smaller” sounding than most Copelands). This whistle has a voice identical to the sound sample on the Copeland web-site, not what I was looking for. It can be played quite boldly. My d requires more subtle breathe control and is a bit picky about it actually, squeeking and chirping if care isn’t taken. I enjoy it for that reason as that is not the type of whistle I generally play, favoring my Overtons more. The difference is fun. This c is full in the bottom octave and strong above but balanced - again, sounding identical to the web-site sample- a good-'un, just not for me.
